A wonderful celebration!

We loved gathering to celebrate St. Aidan’s day… check out our highlights video below…

We’re getting ready to celebrate 1-year of St. Aidan’s Cumbria.

Join us at the Braithwaite Institute from 12:30pm for an afternoon packed with food, games and worship.

We’re planning lots of fun for the afternoon: bring along a picnic, have a go at the inflatable assault course, play one of our lawn games and – at the heart of it all – join us as we celebrate all that Jesus is doing in our community at our all-age baptism service. Everyone’s welcome, whether you’re part of St Aidan’s already or just exploring faith.

The Day

  • A plaid blanket spread out on grass in a park with trees and playground equipment in the background, sunlight shining through the trees.

    12:30pm – Picnic

Bring along your favourite picnic food, a blanket, and something to drink – we’ll do our best to provide the sunshine and a free ice cream for everyone. It’s a relaxed, festival-style lunch: spread out on the grass, connect with our community, and enjoy good food and even better company.

  • Kids' shoes scattered on the grass near an inflatable bounce house with children and adults in the background.

    1pm – Field of Fun!

From giant inflatables to French cricket, football goals and classic lawn games, there’s going to be something for everyone on the Field of Fun. Pack sunscreen and comfy shoes!

  • St. Aidan's Cumbria celebrating on Easter Sunday

3pm – All age service with baptisms

At 3pm we’ll gather inside for a fun, family-friendly baptism service. Expect Spirit-filled worship, chance to engage and plenty of celebration as we cheer on those taking this step in their faith.

If you’re interested in being baptised, get in touch with John to find out more.

How do I get there?

The Braithwaite Institute is right on the A66, 10 minutes from Keswick and 15 minutes from Cockermouth by car.

There is plenty of parking available on-site, right outside the hall and along the field that we’ll be spending the afternoon in.

Spread the word

We’re really looking forward to celebrating with our community – and we’d love to open the invitation wider. Whether someone’s been thinking about coming to St. Aidan’s for a while, or you just know they’d enjoy a day like this, we’d love your help spreading the word.

Below you’ll find downloadable materials to help you invite friends, share on social media, or put something up in your local community.
